The Magic Circle. Masca, Teide and the North of Tenerife

  • Our most popular tour takes visitors through some of the most vibrant areas of Tenerife. This 8-hour trek covers three regions spanning more than five climates. The first part of our trek will be from Teide National Park, where we’ll travel through the scenic mountain range, stopping along the way for photos and to admire the views from a height of 2,200 meters. Following our time in Teide, we’ll venture on to the village of Masca, on the west side of Tenerife - located within the Masca Gorge, it’s often compared by visitors to Machu Picchu. From Masca, we’ll  travel back to the north side of the island - a journey filled with beautiful coastlines, cliffs and beaches (we’ll stop at one of our favorite beaches along the way). No trip is complete, however, without a stop at a local restaurant to try wine & local delicacies.

Canarian Patagonia Hiking: Cape Teno and Masca

  • Teno Rural Park is located in the north-west of the island of Tenerife. This is one of the most beautiful natural areas and has preserved much of its ecological, scenic and cultural wealth, largely thanks to its isolated position. Once you set eyes on the area's complicated topography, you will find it incredible to think that people used to live there. The variety of its landscapes has it all, from magnificent cliffs, valleys, islands and laurel forests to wonderful pieces of traditional architecture.

In the morning we start from your hotel and drive to Teno Rural Park by winding mountain roads. The first stop will be in Masca village - the most popular place in this area. We can see how beautiful it is at any time of the year. The views from here are worthy of your camera shots. Then we head deep into the Teno mountains.

Wild places like in Patagonia, rare courtyards like ghosts can disappear in the suddenly appeared clouds, herds of goats - all this gives this area a special character that you`ll never forget. And from this mountain plateau, our hiking trail will go down the mountain slope towards the Teno lighthouse. We will enjoy the views of the unusual coastline. When lava fought the ocean thousands of years ago and left us its caves. At the lighthouse we will have the opportunity to plunge into the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, excellent snorkeling is guaranteed after a mountain walk! Teno lighthouse is the most western point of the island, very attractive for many tourists, and mostly inaccessible during the day. From here you can see Los Gigantes Cliffs from the other side - not like on postcards - so it is one of the best places for photo shooting. Further we have to return back to the starting point of our walking route (ascent 460 meters). In total, we have to walk 8 km on this day.
